Education

This year's Education Rep is Nina Junttila, who can be contacted via email.

Here is a little message from Nina:

'As the Education Officer, I am excited about setting up the educational side of MedSoc events this year. My goal is to provide support with our studies through workshops, study tips sessions, and study resources, as well as introduce us to different pathways of medicine.  As a part of my role, I am also the link between our academic societies and I want to ensure that they run smoothly together and represent our interests and needs. Additionally, I wish to organise smaller revision sessions and set up study groups - anything you would like to have to boost your studying, do let me know!'

The Lincoln Anatomical society is a society set up for Lincoln students who are interested in or studying anatomy. Our aim for the society is to encourage interprofessional education of anatomy. We plan to hold networking events where the members from different courses in the society can get to know each other. We also have plans to invite guest speakers who are renown in their fields to show different applications of anatomy within the healthcare system. We are excited to set this society up for people who are intrigued by anatomy.

WAMS (Widening Access to Medicine Scheme)

COMMITTEE:
  • Connie Barton - Co-President
  • Rory Howard - Co-President

It is a surprising fact that ‘80% of Doctors come from 20% of schools…’ We should then ask if Doctors are therefore representative of their local communities and the society they serve. As group of young, diverse medical students, we believe that medicine should be more representative of the population as a whole and the medical profession should be reflecting social mobility. Our key priority and aim is to help aspiring students from diverse backgrounds, who have an interest in medicine as a career.  Our main focus will primarily be on local schools within the local community where we will be guests, visiting and delivering workshops to all age groups. Ultimately our goal is to reach students across the whole county of Lincolnshire. We will also be organising a number of events at the University of Lincoln which can be accessed by all.

If you are interesting in joining WAMS, please contact them via this email.
